Captain Marvel
After DC’s Wonder Woman that has achieved great success in 2017, it is now Marvel’s turn to strike back with Captain Marvel hitting the screens on March 8th. Brie Larson embodies Carol Danvers, a former Air Force fighter pilot, that suddenly morphs into a powerful superhero. While she attempts to discover her origins, Earth turns into a wide battlefield in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
Captain Marvel opens in theatres on March 8th
Marvel has one good card to play with her heroin Captain Marvel to compete with Wonder Woman. I expect a fresh new adventure with intense battles from Captain Marvel.
Avengers: Endgame
The last opus of the franchise marks the ultimate battle of the survivors of Avengers: Infintiy War (2018) and the titan Thanos that has already wiped out fifty percent of living creatures and left Earth in ruins. The remaining allies have to team up to prevent the extinction of the planet.
Avengers : Endgame opens in theatres on April 26th
I believe that the movie will conclude the saga with an epic showdown. I also expect an explanation on how the heroes who previously perished will be brought back to life.
Spider-Man : Far From Home
Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man) drops New York to embark on a school trip across Europe with his squad without packing his costume. In Venice, he runs into Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and accepts to help him disclose the mystery of several natural attacks stirring panic throughout the continent.
Spider-Man: Far From Home opens in theatres on July 5th*
I expect a lot of fun, great fights and also looking forward to seeing Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance as Mysterio.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix
X-Men confront one of their own this time, the powerful Jean Grey, who was almost killed during a rescue mission in space. After a long recovery, she becomes mightier but also unstable. Dealing with her memories, she seeks to obtain answers but she can’t control her power anymore. The X-Men have to unite to save Jean and also face off with aliens.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix opens in theatres on June 7th
I hope to see a deeper and darker X-Men with a huge dilemma for the X-Men, compared to the previous one which was essentially much more an action-orientated movie without a good plot (X-Men: Apocalypse).
Men in Black: International
The Men in Black return with brand new agents within their corporation. Tessa Thompson (Agent M) and Chris Hemsworth (Agent H) done their white shirts and bind their black ties to shoot some aliens but most importantly confound a mole inside their agency.
Men in Black: International opens in theatres on June 14th*
I would never have thought that a new Men in Black would be shot. However, I look forward to seeing in action the new pair of agents, which brings novelty and interest. Plus, puns and aliens are mandatory for this new opus.
The New Mutants
A new generation of mutants deemed dangerous, since they can’t control their new capacities, are detained in an isolated facility. As they try to escape, they face abnormal phenomenon.
The New Mutants opens in theatres on August 2nd
It appears to be a promising story with new characters with an emphasis on horror that differs from the original movies. I expect new revelations about mutants and maybe ties with the previous movies, or, maybe, the beginning of a brand-new saga?
*Spider-Man: Far From Home and Men In Black: International haven’t communicated the UK date release, these are United States ones.
