The resurrection of outdoor exhibitions has allowed the public to get out and about and immerse themselves in art.
Opportunities that are available beyond the sights of our bedroom have been drastically scarce due to the second lockdown. Getting out and about to explore the hidden gems of London has become much more of a challenge. It’s far too easy to stay within the same four walls of our rooms. We are absorbing ourselves in the portal of the digital world. Nevertheless, the arts sector refuses to let the lockdown stop its access to the public. Subsequently, a few innovative outdoor exhibitions have proved that. This makes them a must-see sight for this weekend.
Face to Face
This exhibition is curated by Ekow Eshun in collaboration with the Fund for Global Human Rights. Face to Face showcases the art of emerging international creatives. Situated in King’s Cross Tunnel, it’s the perfect exhibition highlighting the stories of marginalized communities from all across the globe. It is located above ground towards Granary Square. It is also a continuation of the display featured in the Outside Art Project. This can be seen dotted around on various benches in the area. Vibrant and beautifully displayed, Face to Face is a photographic feast definitely worth your time this weekend.

COVID MANIFESTO
This is a creation by the LA-based filmmaker Cauleen Smith. COVID MANIFESTO is a collaboration with CIRCA. It uses the lights in Piccadilly Circus to create a stunningly truthful depiction of the year so far. The manifesto consists of 23 pronouncements. It follows the personal experiences of multiple individuals and the effect of Covid-19 on their lives. It is of course, deeply intimate yet only runs for a couple of minutes every night. Smith sequences the realities of living through a world-stopping pandemic through photos and handwritten statements.
COVID MANIFESTO can be seen in Piccadilly Circus every night this month at 20:20 – 20:22 PM.
LOOKING UP
LOOKING UP is a Canary Wharf based architecture and sculpture exhibit carefully curated around the natural environment. The work is by Helaine Blumenfeld. She dabbles in a range of media and considers life, subjectivity, and beauty within her sculptures. If you are indeed in doubt about what to do this weekend, we have a solution for you.
