Review: The French Dispatch

Wes Anderson’s latest film is here and it doesn’t fail to amaze. Anderson is known for his quirky style. From The Grand Budapest Hotel to The Royal Tenenbaums he manages to intertwine the ludicrous craziness of life with honest reflections on reality. His films tend to provide you with a colourful, chaotic and dreamlike world that allows you to escape the mundane.

Twelve-year-old me was sitting in the back of my mum’s Ford Fiesta as she drove me and my little brother to school, when “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” started playing on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show. I knew who Taylor Swift was, but I wasn’t a fan back then. Red changed that. Within 48 hours of the album’s release I’d memorised every single line, and I’ve been obsessed ever since.
